Hot‐Rolled Pickled & Oiled, often abbreviated HRPO, starts life as a standard hot‐rolled coil. It’s first pickled in acid to remove mill scale and surface oxides, then lightly oiled to inhibit flash rust during storage and transport. The result is a smooth, uniform surface that’s ideal for downstream processing—painting, galvanizing, further cold forming or deep drawing.
